Ann, The Person | Family Photo Album
Born on April 3, 1949, Ann is a baby boomer and an Aries! She grew up in a reform Jewish home in southern Florida with a younger sister and an older brother. Her father was a pediatrician, her mother a full-time volunteer.
Ann did not start out as an "A" student, but her determination to excel at whatever she did helped her to overcome dyslexia and a reading disability. Her mom never told her this as a youngster, but she has a pretty high IQ.
Ann was given a tennis racquet at an early age and her love of the sport continues today! Horses were her other obsession. Ann became a skilled equestrian and spent most of her adolescent summers riding and training horses at a ranch/camp in the Colorado Rockies. It was there that her love affair with the great outdoors began and her spirit of adventure took flight. Today, Ann is still a cowgirl (without a horse, but she sees one in her future).
Ann attended Boston University in the late 60s when protest marches were an everyday occurrence and popular extracurricular activity. In 1969, Ann marched on Washington DC against the Vietnam War and she remains a pacifist to this day. In the 1972 election, Ann campaigned for George McGovern.
Throughout high school and college, Ann was drawn to the political and protest songs of the 60s folk movement. Ann's favorite folksingers and songwriters included Pete Seeger, Bob Dylan, Chad Mitchell Trio, Dave Van Ronk, Tom Paxton, Phil Ochs, Eric Anderson, Tim Hardin, Richie Havens, Arlo Guthrie, Joan Baez, Judy Collins, Laura Nyro and Joni Mitchell. Ann learned to play guitar singing folk songs at summer camp and started writing songs in 1964. In 1982, Ann formed her publishing company Spiritwood Music Inc to publish her music and poetry. In 1993, Ann released UNCENSORED: An Anthology of Creative Expression Spanning Four Decades.
Ann was born a tomboy, no question. But she didn't come out of the closet until 1978 (five years after her first relationship with a woman). Ann targets first-time buyers, women and the Gay Lesbian Bi-Sexual Transgender (GLBT) community in her advertising. You might say it's her niche of preference. Her customer demographics are about 60/40 gay/straight, 80/20 buyers/sellers, and 75/25 first-time homebuyers/repeat buyers.
Ann has been a resident of the Twin Cities since 1987 and lives in South St Paul with her two dogs (Noah & Britt) and her two cats (Patches & Sydney). She loves her cozy three bedroom 1.5 story home nestled on 1.2 wooded acres. It's the site of her annual customer appreciation BBQ which she hopes you'll be at next year.
Ann's Favorite Book: The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry (1900-1944), French aviator, writer.
Ann's Favorite Quote (from her favorite book): It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.
Ann's Favorite Movie: The King of Hearts, starring Alan Bates.
Ann's Philosophy Of Life: If it ain't fun, why bother?
Ann's Lucky Number: 33.
Well, that's enough about Ann! Now, it's your turn to disclose your real estate fantasies to the Real Estate Fairy!
